Types of Columns -

Decoro offers a full line of architectural columns designed to meet the demands of luxury residential, commercial, and institutional projects. Whether you're looking for crisp detailing, historic accuracy, or structural strength, Decoro's column options are built to deliver without compromising on style or longevity.

Cellular PVC columns

Cellular PVC is a lightweight composite material that resists moisture and insect damage. Decoro's PVC column wraps are constructed with lock-miter joints and ship with one side loose to simplify installation. Bases and capitals are delivered separately, allowing installers to adjust on site without leaving visible gaps.

These columns are easy to machine, making them ideal for custom applications. They offer a clean, painted-wood look without the maintenance. Design options include:

  • Raised or recessed panels

  • Entasis tapering

  • Pedestal bases

PVC columns work especially well in coastal climates or anywhere low-maintenance durability is a priority.

Fiberglass columns

Fiberglass columns are made from glass cloth, chopped fibers, and a flame-retardant polyester resin. The result is a structural column that is both lightweight and incredibly strong, with compressive strength often reaching between 15,000 and 25,000 psi.

Fiberglass columns are available in both full and split styles. They can be cut to fit and are easy to paint with proper surface prep. Aesthetically, they are often found in smooth or fluted profiles and can be paired with traditional capital and base styles. Design options include:

These columns are ideal for load-bearing entryways, institutional architecture, and classical restorations.

Molded limestone columns

Molded limestone columns offer the look and texture of cast stone without the weight and expense. Decoro’s molded limestone is available in smooth or textured finishes and is suitable for all climates. These columns are structural and versatile, commonly used in upscale residential builds, civic buildings, or large-scale renovations where a timeless material is desired.

Design options include:

  • Smooth shafts for a refined look

  • Textured finishes for a more rustic or aged appearance

  • Compatibility with a wide range of traditional capitals and bases

Design flexibility across materials

All of Decoro’s columns—PVC, fiberglass, GFRC, and molded limestone—can be customized to match the architectural needs of your project. From pedestal bases and recessed panels to historic-style moldings and oversized diameters, the options are extensive. Many column lines are available in sizes up to 60 inches in diameter, with a full catalog of capital and base configurations to choose from.
